How to Get the Most Out of a New Office

If your business has been seeing regular growth recently, you might be thinking about moving to premises that afford you some more space. If your current office can’t support any additional employees, you may be unable to fulfil the demand of your new workload. Likewise, you could see a shift in productivity and morale from your existing employees if your office starts to become too crowded.

Furnishings

Having to move into a new office doesn’t have be a negative situation though. In fact, it can be a great opportunity to give your company a fresh look. Investing in new office furnishings can reinforce the kind of brand you want your business to have. Buying quality furniture in large quantities can be expensive, though, even when your company is prosperous. Consider leasing the items from a furnishing contractor instead. The benefits of using a furnishing contractor mean you’ll be able to design the space around your needs, by choosing contemporary designs or focusing on ergonomics to improve office productivity.

Technology

Businesses are more reliant on technology now than ever before. By simply making sure there are enough of the basics, like printers, photocopiers, and scanners, employees won’t be left waiting around and can, instead, be more constructive with their time.

Installing a projector in the conference room is also a great way to improve company meetings. You’ll eliminate the chance of there not being enough hand-outs for everyone and employees can take their own notes from the information presented.

Equipment

Moving your business is also an opportunity to install some new equipment. Installing CCTV cameras can keep your employees and clients safe. Rather than areas where your employees frequent, though, such as their personal cubicles, conference rooms, or lunch areas, focus on public areas or where you are likely to deal with clients. This will make sure your employees don’t feel like you’re invading their privacy, but still allow you to protect your business from the risk of break-ins and theft.

Another feature you could consider installing is air conditioning. Air conditioning isn’t considered an office luxury any more, but it’s a wise investment. Not only will your employees love you for it during the summer period, but studies have shown that employees are more productive when they’re happier and more comfortable. Take a look at Pure Air Conditioning for more information on the installation process.

Remember that moving to a different office space is a big decision. Only make the change if you’re seeing growth over a prolonged period of time.
