5 Awesome Google Chrome plugins

In the last few years Google Chrome has become one of the most popular choice for web browsers simply because of its great functionality and speed. However many people do not use Google Chromes plugins that are available from the Web Store. I have been using Google Chrome for many years now and over that time I have tried many different plugins, many of them i still use today.

For this reason I have decided to write this post to share some of my favourite Google Chrome plugins that I could not live without. All of these are available to download for free from the Web Store.

AdBlock

AdBlock is probably my favourite Chrome plugin and does exactly what is says in the name. If you are fed up with annoying ads on nearly every webpage you seem to view these days then i recommend that you download this plugin. With over 6 million users it is one of Chromes most popular plugins. Once set up you will see the icon in the top corner of your screen. If you want to view the ads on a particular page then you can click on the icon and enable the ads for just that page, or you can pause AdBlock completely

Angry Birds

Everyone loves Angry Birds so what better place to play than in your browser. If you just want a five-minute break from work then why not get started on Angry Birds.There is all the usual levels you would expect from Angry Birds and I mostly use this plugin when I do not have much else to do but it is still great fun.

SocialPlus

SocialPlus adds the functionality to Facebook that should have been added a long time ago. With this plugin you can control exactly what options you want to enable and what you want to disable. There are many options such as a Dislike Button, as well as a colour status and emotions. Furthermore there are many more options to enable such as video chat and you can preview a photo by just holding your mouse over.

Google Mail Checker

If you are like me then you like to spend a lot if time with your internet browser open and you do not leave your email client open for long to check what emails you have. Well if you do this and use G Mail then this plugin is going to come in very useful. All it does it add a notification into the top corner of your browser so you can see how many messages you have when you are browsing the web. Therefore saving you time and making your time more productive.

Turn Off the Lights

This is an unusual plugin which creates a nice viewing experience for watching YouTube and other videos online. This plugin simply fades the background out so that you can just see the video which blocks out all distractions and creates a generally better viewing experience. With over 1 million downloads this plugin is obviously very useful to a lot of people.
