Which 2013 tablet is best for gaming?

2013 has seen a huge breakthrough for tablets, with the market expanding far outside the confines of Apple and Samsung – although these two industry giants still offer outstanding products. With the unprecedented amount of choice on offer, gamers in particular are keen to know which device is the best for play, and in this article we’ll look at some of the key indicators of a good gaming tablet.

We’re all gamers to different extents and whereas some of us may prefer the addictive nature of simple puzzle games like Cut the Rope or Candy Crush, others will prefer the challenge of the online casino. We also have those hugely immersive sideways scrolling games and arcade type offerings with intricate graphics and big sound.

All games demand something of your tablet’s processor, with the more graphics heavy offerings naturally being more demanding. Gamers should look for large processors, 2MB of Ram, a good user interface, plenty of storage (32GB or more), and a screen size that suits their types of multimedia.

The iPad4 will always be the tablet that most of us aspire to, and it must be remembered that the Apple products are privy to the greatest array of cutting edge games thanks to the iTunes store. These games are made with Apple hardware in mind, whereas the Android platform doesn’t necessarily have that advantage. The new A6X processor and the retina display are beautifully optimised in many modern iPad games.

With that said, the best Android tablets do have games that utilise the full power of the specs on offer in the wider market, and one tablet that seems to tick all of the boxes is the Google Nexus 7 2.

The Nexus 7 2 huge 1.5Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 2MB RAM to keep things ticking along at high speed. The superb pixilation on screen then projects Google’s tablet into the higher reaches of most critic’s ‘best tablet’ lists.

If the 7inch tablet is too small for your liking, you may wish to try the Toshiba Excite Pro, The Sony Xperia Z Tablet or the Samsung Galaxy 10.1, all of which have a bigger display and hence less graphical clutter, important at places like casino sites such as www.gamingclub.co.uk or other gaming sites with high graphics.
