How to enhance your WordPress blogs security

WordPress is one of the most popular methods for creating websites online. It is also popular with hackers who will try and hack your website. This is why you need to stay protected to avoid getting hacked as you could potentionally loose your whole website. In this post you will learn some of the best methods of keeping your WordPress site protected from hackers.

Keep updated

Make sure you keep your WordPress site updated. Updates can protect you from security vulnerabilities which hacked could use to get into your website. By keeping your site updated it will minimize the risk of getting hacked. You will know when there is a core WordPress update available as there will be a notification.

Remove WordPress footprints

Try to make your website make as little like WordPress as possible so that hackers do not know that you are using WordPress. You can do this by removing WordPress footer links and using a WordPress theme that is not very common . This will make it harder for hackers to identiy a WordPress site and what version you are using.

Use a WordPress security program

Use a WordPress security program like bulletProof Security . Programs like this are great and will protect your website from most common threats to your website. They are a must have these days to keep your website safe from any unwanted intruders,

Backup

Make sure you back up your website on a regular basis. You can do this manually or if you are using WordPress you can do this automatically using some of the plugins that are availible. Backups can be a life saver if you get hacked and your site brought down. Back ups can be done for free and in very little time but save you a big job in the long run.

Change your login

The WordPress default login is Admin and everybody knows this. This means hackers are already half way there to getting access to your site. All they need to do is change the password. The best thing to do is delete the admin account completely and pick a unusual under/password combination. You should also change your password regularly.
