Google+ Could it really beat Facebook ?

Well, today Google made there social network, Google+ available to everyone. We have spent most of the day testing out Google+ as well as comparing some of its features with Facebook and Twitter.

At the moment Google+ is looking a bit empty to work properly as most people will not have friends a lot of friends that are actually using it instead of Facebook.  However we do think this could soon be a big success.

Stream

On Google+ just like Facebook and Twitter you have your main stream on the homepage. However this stream is a bit different. Instead of viewing everyone you follows latest status you can just view ones from different circles, which are like groups. This is a nice feature as you can create more circles and just view people statuses that you are interested in instead of having to look through them all at once. As well as this you also have the option to comment on, and share other peoples posts.

Photos

Photo viewing is also very nice on Google+ To start viewing photos you just need to click the photo icon which is at the top next to the search Google+. At first when you click on photos you can see all recent photos with the amount of comments that is on each photo. once you click on a photo the rest of your screen will go dark with the photo in the middle which looks nice and makes the photo stand out. You can see the comments on the side.

Games

A nice and unusual feature in Google+ is its integration with games like angry birds. You can get access to the games library straight from the options bar at the top. Games is a nice option that you cannot find in Twitter. There is not a lot of games available at the moment but they are all of a good quality.

The verdict

Overall we were impressed with Google+. For a new social network it definitely has a lot to offer which really make it stand out from the crowd. However at the moment there is not enough people on using Google+ to make it enjoyable. However this is got to be one to watch out for in the future when it has more features added and a lot more users.
