How To Get Your Content To ‘Go Viral’

As a business it’s more important than ever that you generate good content. Content is what makes the entire internet so powerful. It is the power source behind social media. It’s the thing we share with our friends and family. It entertains us and informs us. From a business point of view it builds brand loyalty and it extends your reach. But, do you ever have that feeling that you’re creating content that no one is reading? Today’s post is all about getting your work in front of more eyes.

Social Media – Social media is the single most important place for the spread of content. Every day millions of videos, photos and articles are shared, liked and swapped on Facebook. Content organically reaches the furthest corners of Twitter and Instagram. Develop a strategy to increase your social media platform. Think of it as a springboard to launch your content. The bigger the springboard, the further it will go.

Develop a voice – There is absolutely no point in generating content for the sake of content. Quantity is not important here. Don’t bust out 10 articles of poor quality when you could produce one unstoppable piece. Take the time to develop a style and voice that connects with your audience. Speak their language. When they connect emotionally with it, they’ll share it. And others will connect with it, and share it.

Inform and entertain – As a business, these are your two rules to live by when it comes to content. It’s often difficult for businesses to know what content to produce. Well, the most popular content on the web either informs or entertains. You can do both, but remember to keep it relevant to your particular industry. Start by informing a niche. Use a concentrated core of users.

Adverts – When you’re getting started, there is no silver bullet that leads to virality. Even the most viral posts on the net rarely occur without a good push at the start. Adverts are a great way to give your content that first nudge. Use social media adverts to define and target your audience. You can also use Google ads to target a certain audience with your content.

Website optimisation – Great content all starts with your website. If you’re a traditional business, your website may not be set up for content. Search engine optimization is a big part of getting your work seen. Make sure your content features targeted keywords in your niche. You could also take advantage of website promotion in the UK to extend your reach. The experts know all the inside tricks to getting your content in front of more eyes. Finally, make sure you include social sharing buttons on every post or image. Give your readers the option to share it with friends.

Unfortunately, there is no magical way to create viral content that reaches millions. Instead, follow the advice here and take small steps. Build up to that million and you’ll soon be going viral!
