Turn That Bright Idea Into A Business Before Teatime

As if you needed another sign that world was a fast moving place. You could start your own business today! Not only that, you could have it registered, advertised, networked and even selling its products by this time tomorrow. You could even wake up to find that you had gone viral, and your world was changed irrevocably. By this time next week? Who knows? Anything is possible. Here it is then, the way to turn your bright idea into a business that will have you trading by teatime.

The idea.

Well yes, you do have to provide that part. But you’ve been dreaming of it for quite a while. Perhaps it’s been gestating over the Xmas period. It starts with an ‘if only’ or a ‘why don’t I?’ Sometimes it comes complete with a ‘eureka’ moment. More than likely you’ve been waiting for an excuse to start. Here it is.

Give it a name.

This is your business, your company. Think of something short and memorable. Something a little unusual. Your business name is going to be with you for a while. As soon as you start this process you’ll be trading with it. That means people will be making a note of it. You don’t want to change it once you are underway, so make it a name you can live with.

Register your company.

It’s not difficult at all. In fact, company formation is going to be one of the simplest processes you have ever undertaken. It takes only a matter of hours to form a basic limited company. If you wish, you can be registered and even have a trading address and a support network. While that is being processed, let’s get down to marketing.

Social Media Time

Hopefully, you’re savvy with Twitter and Facebook at least. Tweet the start of the company and let people know they can check out your Facebook page. Set up a separate page for your business. Get working on your profile. Upload a few pictures. Start a blog.Get enthusiastic about your service or product. Even if you have not done one single thing, start talking as if you mean it. Start to create interest. People will want to know, they are curious.

Build your website.

Use a website template builder and get focused. This can be ongoing. You are only going to need a few simple pages. You’ll need some contact details, some graphics, a great ‘about me’ page and, the most important page, the one about what you are offering. And last but not least you’ll need to set up a PayPal account or something similar to take care of transactions. If you’ve got an e-book ready to go then so much the better. Publish it and attach it. If not, then you need to start writing one.

And finally

Your company has been registered. You can legally start trading; you have a facebook page that is already out there being shared and a website being tweaked. Now, how difficult was that? The point being of course that it is easy to set up a business, and, in fact, it has never been easier. You’ll need to work. Everything from now on will be about your marketing and your drive. But you can do it. Today, this morning. Why wait? Get that bright idea out there now!
