Different Forms of Video Your Company May Want to Produce

There are many ways to advertise your business and share your story, but there are some that are more popular in the current times. In the past, magazine and newspaper advertising was big business, but these days people want to watch something instead of reading it. That means they will either stick the TV on or head onto an internet enabled device such as a smartphone, tablet or PC. That means you as a company need to get messages onto these platforms.

The question you need to answer is: how will you go about doing that? You will be looking at forms of video production in order to satisfy the demand for watchable content. So to get you a bit further with your thinking, here are a few suggestions to consider…

Animated video

You only need to look as far as the recent John Lewis Christmas advert to see how effective an animated video can be. The mix of the story, music and production leads people to go absolutely balmy over these advertisements, to the point where they cry, or go ahead and share the video with someone they know through social media – this is exactly what they company wants. Animated videos can work well on TV as well as online; people want to see a joined up campaign that they feel like they are part of. You could also think about using animation as a way to explain what your company does on your own website, especially if it is a little bit complex to understand by reading text.

Interactive video

How about taking things a step further by creating an interactive video? This works perfectly for web use, and could be used by many different brands for some brilliantly creative ideas. For example, a fashion brand could post a video of their latest catwalk show – the interactive feature could be making the video clickable to find out more about each piece worn by the models. It could even trigger an action to add clothes to a shopping basket on the website itself! Interactivity allows you to think outside of the box and be a leader and experimenter in your industry.

Corporate video

Another form of video is in the form of a corporate video, which is often used on a B2B basis rather than advertising to customers. A corporate video could be used to demonstrate a new product to potential buyers, or it could be something shown at a brand announcement event such as those held by Apple when releasing news on an iPhone or iPad. Some of these videos can also be used as an aid to attract investors through various means.

Video conference

Finally, there is a form of video that you can create in real time – this is a video conference. There are various platforms that you can use for a video conference, whether you want to connect with brand fans or business associates. Look at solutions such as Google Hangouts, Skype or WebEx.
