Boosting your blogs exposure – Get your blog noticed online

How much exposure does your blog actually have online ? Have you ever actually stopped and thought just how many other bloggers know about your blog. To maximize your blogs exposure you need to make everyone aware that you are here. Not just your readers, but also bloggers  and experts in your niche. If you can get noticed by these people then you will know that you are doing something right.

Promote your content 

Unless your content is something spectacular then you will not find anyone else promoting your content for you. If you want your content seen online then this is down to you. First you need to identify your target audience so that you know exactly who is going to read your content and there for who you are going to promote your content to. Then you need to decide how exactly you are going to promote your content online.

Advertising is probably one of the best ways to build online exposure and get your blog noticed online. You could very easily find some other blogs in your niche and contact them about advertising as they are going to already have a lot of targeted traffic which some of can be directed straight to your blog.

One of my most successful ways of building online exposure is social media and this is not to be neglected. Social media is key to any blogs success and without it you are more than likely going to have a huge lack of traffic. For me i find that Twitter is better than Facebook for promoting content and every time I send a tweet I am driving traffic directly to my blog. However for newbies it can be extremely difficult starting on Twitter and actually managing to achieve your first thousand real followers but soon enough you will learn how to dominate Twitter.

Networking 

The aim of your blog should be to build a community around it and to be able to network with other bloggers and people in your niche. If you have an interesting and successful blog then other bloggers are going to want to network with you. However a lot of the time it is going to be down to you to actually contact them in the first place and tell them about your blog and a bit more about you as if you are new to blogging then they may not have heard of you yet. however contacting other bloggers will be one of the best ways to build your online exposure as you are making influential people in your niche become interested in your blog and if they are interested and decide to share some of your content then their followers may also be interested.

Guest blogging 

As well as building backlinks to your blog, guest posting on other websites is an effective way to increase your online exposure. Guest posting on other websites is letting other bloggers and their readers know about you. If your post in interesting then they may come and visit your blog to see what else you are writing about. Guest posting is also a good source of high quality targeted traffic if you target the right blogs.

More importantly though guest blogging is building links back to your website. More links mean more potential traffic. Furthermore, more links also mean a higher Page Rank and this means better search engine rankings and more traffic from search engines.

Be consistent

If you are serious about building your blogs exposure online then you are going to need to think of it as a business and how a business would market their products. A business would have a consistent design through out and this is what you need to do with your blog. What you need is a recognizable logo that people are going to instantly notice and remember your blog as soon as they see the logo.

On the other hand you also need a great logo, or theme if you are using WordPress. Have a common theme which many new blogs are using is going to do nothing for your blogs exposure. What you need is a website layout that not many people have seen before and therefore are going to recognize that it belongs to your website.
